<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically reflect the contents of characters or marks written additionally on a reversible recording medium on electronic data being the origin of a reversible picture recorded in the reversible recording layer of the reversible recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: Characters written additionally on the surface of a heat-sensitive recording medium 100 are erased by a cleaning part 30, and document pictures recorded in a reversible recording layer 102 of the heat-sensitive recording medium are erased by an erasing part 10, and new pictures are recorded in the reversible recording layer of the heat-sensitive recording medium by a recording part 20. Before the characters on the heat-sensitive recording medium are erased by the cleaning part, the characters are read by an additionally written picture reading part 40, and character-recognized.
