An optical module 10, comprising a projected part 15 facilitating the removal of the module from a host board, formed in a housing 14, and engaged with a hook provided on the host board and a lever 20 swingably installed in the housing 14 so as to release the engagement of the projected part 15 with the hook, the lever 20 further comprising a first portion moved by the application of a force in a direction to the housing 14 and a second portion adjacent to the projected part 15 and moved according to the movement of the first portion, whereby, when the first portion is moved by the application of the force thereto, the second portion is moved in the rising direction of the projected part to disengage the engagement of the hook with the projected part.
