The present invention relates to a flow control device for ducts, said control device operating based on the iris-diaphragm principle and including an annular housing (8) having rotatably interleaving control leaves (12) adapted therein and a rotatable control ring (9) arranged to control the position of said leaves, and said flow control device further having mounted thereon a motor (3) adapted to move said control ring (9) and thus said control leaves connected thereto. The invention is implemented by providing a portion of the outer circumference of the control ring (9) with toothing and the outer circumference of the annular damper housing (8) with an opening such that a gear wheel (5), which is mounted at said opening so as to extend partially outside the outer circumference of said annular damper housing, can have its teeth engaging with the toothing of the outer circumference of the control ring (9), and by further connecting the shaft (11) of the gear wheel (5) via the reduction gear to the control motor (3). |
