<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve high-rate discharging characteristics by enhancing conductivity through reduction of electric resistance of a positive electrode active material made of olivin type lithium phosphate. <P>SOLUTION: With the nonaqueous electrolyte battery provided with a positive electrode having positive electrode active material particles including olivin lithium phosphate expressed in LiMPO<SB>4</SB>(M being at least one or more kinds of elements selected from Co, Ni, Mn, and Fe), a negative electrode, and nonaqueous electrolyte, olivin lithium phosphate particles with conductive paths made of carbon built in inside the particles are used as positive electrode active material particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
