PURPOSE: A device for managing networks operating with different protocols is provided to manage SNMP agents operating on different network protocols instead of TCP/IP by using an SNMP manager based on the TCP/IP, thereby managing many SNMP agents with one IP address. CONSTITUTION: Operations of many SNMP agents(110) are managed by predetermined network protocols. An SNMP manager(100) manages the operations of the SNMP agents(110), and operates with a protocol different from the network protocols of the SNMP agents(110). An SNMP gateway agent(120) installed between the SNMP manager(100) and the SNMP agents(110) converts protocols of SNMP packets transmitted between the SNMP manager(100) and the SNMP agents(110), and interfaces the SNMP manager(100) with the SNMP agents(110). The SNMP gateway agent(120) stores an OID(Object ID) agent address mapping table of retrieving addresses of the SNMP agents(110) of the SNMP packets.
