PURPOSE: A circuit for preventing an afterimage of a PDP is provided to prevent damages of images by separating correctly inputted images into still images and motion pictures. CONSTITUTION: A circuit for preventing an afterimage of a PDP includes a scaler portion(100), an image signal level shift portion(110), a detection value operation portion(200), a comparator portion(300), and a microprocessor(400). The scaler portion extracts R, G, and B signals of 8bits from inputted image signals. The image signal level shift portion outputs the least significant bits of the R, G, and B signals as 0 in order to reduce the influence due to noise. The detection value operation portion extracts a detection value by performing an operating process for the R, G, and B signals. The comparator portion compares the extracted detection value with a threshold value and outputs a compared result. The microprocessor is used for controlling an operation of a PDP module driving portion by determining whether the image signal is a still image or a moving picture. |
