<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell, by which the contact resistance between metal plate separators and an electrolyte membrane/electrode construction, and a voltage loss can be reduced, its construction can become simple and power generation performance can be improved. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 10 includes the electrolyte membrane/electrode construction 14 and a primary and a secondary separators 16, 18, that hold the electrolyte membrane/electrode construction 14 therebetween. Metal plates 42, 44, having both functions of transmission of a fuel gas and an oxidizing agent gas and of electron conductivity are respectively interposed in between an anode side electrode 28 and/a cathode side electrode 30 constituting the electrolyte membrane and/electrode construction 14 and the primary and/the secondary separators 16, 18; and a plurality of through-holes 46a, 46b are formed on the metal plates 42, 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
