<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can accurately detect the amount of a developer and always transmit the accurate developer amount to a user without being influenced by variation of a humidity distribution due to moisture absorption of toner and environmental changes such as variation of a temperature distribution due to ambient temperature variation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: an image carrier 1; a cartridge 20 which is freely attachable to and detachable from an image forming apparatus main body and has a developing device 4 having developer storage parts 41 and 42 containing a developer T for forming a toner image by developing an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier 1; and developer remaining amount detecting means 43 and 47 which detect the remaining amounts of developers in the developer storage parts 43 and 47, and the apparatus forms an image on a recording medium. The image forming apparatus further has an environment detecting means which detects the installation environment of the cartridge 20 in the image forming apparatus main body and corrects detected values as developer remaining amount detection results obtained by the developer remaining amount detecting means 43 and 47 according to the detection result of the environment detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
