PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable information robot apparatus which has a function as a junction terminal for information communication, and also has performance for adding functions by hardware and software corresponding to the hardware. SOLUTION: A robot 10 is able to advance by itself, and is provided with a proximity radio communication unit which is able to communicate with a proximity radio communication terminal (microphone) 50, a radio LAN communication unit which is able to communicate with a radio LAN communication station 54, a function expanding slot for receiving expanded hardware, a panel memory retaining driver software for driving expanded hardware, a panel memory connector for receiving the panel memory, and a fixed external storage for storing the driver software. The robot 10 is able to expand its uses in the state that the robot has a function as a junction terminal for information communication between the radio LAN communication station 54 and the proximity radio communication terminal 50, because the expanded hardware is installed and its driver software is received and stored in the panel memory.
