PURPOSE: A power source control device and method of an air conditioner is provided to perform control by deciding abnormality of power input to a control unit. CONSTITUTION: A power source control device of an air conditioner comprises a power input unit(10b) inputting alternating current power; a constant voltage unit(20b) rectifying the input alternating current power; a direct current power output unit(30b) in which the rectified current power is converted into direct current power and is output; a power-deciding unit(50b) deicing whether the direct current power is a range of a proof voltage value; and a control unit(40b) operating the air conditioner if the direct current power is the range value of the proof voltage value. Although abnormal voltage is input into the air conditioner, the air conditioner is protected from abnormal voltage by sensing abnormal voltage and stopping the air conditioner.
