PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out power saving control according to the operation condition of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: A power controller 44 determins a unit the operation of which can be stopped or restricted according to the operation condition of the apparatus whose notice is given from a control part 40. Then, based on the characteristic of the judged unit, a power saving system is selected from a plurality of power saving systems to carry out operation restricting control for power saving by the selected power saving system, which comprises the off-state of a power source, the off-state of a clock, the down of a clock frequency and switching to a sleep mode.
