PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve and browse continued image data such as picture scroll at a low cost. SOLUTION: When this image data retrieval and browsing system is started up in an information processor capable of inputting and displaying information, and a desired condition is inputted thereto through the information processor, the inputted condition is judged by a condition input means 10, a corresponding database 50 is referred by a data retrieval means 30 on the basis of the condition judged by the condition input means 10 to retrieve image data, explanation image data and explanation text from an image data file 40a, an explanation image data file 40b, and an explanation text data file 40c, respectively, and the retrieved image data, explanation image data and explanation text are outputted from a data output means 30 and then displayed on the information processor.
