PURPOSE: A continuous cylinder top dead center compensation method for an engine is provided to continuously correct a top dead center of a cylinder in an engine by using a cylinder pressure sensor mounted on a first cylinder. CONSTITUTION: When power is applied to a vehicle, all parameters are initialized(S100). After an engine is started, it is determined whether or not a pressure top dead center of a first cylinder is below a predetermined reference value(S120). If the pressure top dead center of the first cylinder is below the predetermined reference value, pressure of the first cylinder according to each crank angle is detected and stored(S140). Then, motoring pressure data are formed before an ignition time is determined based on measured pressure data, coefficient and constant stored in a memory. If the ignition time is determined, a maximum value of mean pressure values is compared with the reference top dead center. If the maximum value of the mean pressure values is different from the reference top dead center, the reference top dead center is corrected as the maximum value of the mean pressure values(S210).
