PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vinyl alcohol polymer film being useful as a material for manufacturing a polarizing film, free of a crease and uniform. SOLUTION: In the present manufacturing method for the vinyl alcohol polymer film wherein a film-making material containing a vinyl alcohol polymer is cast or discharged onto an endless belt and then dried, the material is dried on the endless belt until the volatile content thereof becomes 13 wt.% or less, and the vinyl alcohol polymer film thus formed is peeled off from the endless belt and then subjected to post-drying or heat treatment.
