PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition giving a cured product having remarkably improved heat-resistance without lowering the toughness and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition is composed of (A) an epoxy resin, (B) a curing agent and (C) an ethylene copolymer ionomer. The amount of the curing agent B is 0.1-0.8 equivalent based on 1 epoxy equivalent of the epoxy resin A and that of the ethylene copolymer ionomer C is 1-50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the epoxy resin A.
