<p>A needle-stick safety syringe includes an inner tubular body (15), plunger (1), and needle (9) extending from a distal end of said inner tubular body (15), an outer tubular housing (7) concentrically and slidingly surrounding at least a portion of the inner tubular body (15) and biased apart from the inner tubular body (15). A recess (18) is defined within an interior wall surface of the outer tubular housing (7), and a latch (12) attached to a distal end of the inner tubular body (15) and includes a cantilevered push-stop (21). A portion of the cantilevered push-stop (21) is sized to fit within the recess (18) when the latch (12) is sufficiently disposed within the outer tubular housing (7).</p> |
