The reading or working spectacles comprise two lenses for each eye, they are installed in their frame so that the axial distance between them is automatically alterable for purposes of focussing. The frame incorporates a sensor for constantly determining the distance between the lenses and an object being viewed, as well as means for lens distance alteration on the basis of sensor signals.
