LOW DENSITY MICROSPHERES AND ITS USE AS CONTRAST AGENT FOR COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a homogenous water suspension of microspheres with a low density as a contrast medium to obtain an image of gastrointestinal tract or other cavities in the body using computed tomography.

SOLUTION: The suspension and contrast medium containing the gas-filled microspheres with the low density are provided. The gas is derivered from a volatile perfluorocarbon.
