PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a large-sized fish such as a saury, a large- sized mackerel or a large-sized horse mackerel cannot be used as a live bait with the same lure because a conventional lure for a scabbard fish is manufactured by determining the length between a bait holding part and a fishhook constant on the assumption of a small-sized fish such as a loach, a banded blue sprat, a sardine or a small horse mackerel to be the live bait for fishing the scabbard fish or the interval between the bait holding part and a shank of the fishhook is narrow, and that the swinging manner of the fish cannot be produced by an angler because the flexibility for swinging inherent to the live bait is reduced. SOLUTION: This lure for the live bait 7 is obtained by mounting a mask 2 in imitation of the head to the fish for housing the head of the live bait on the front upper part of a bait holding part 3 holding the belly part of the live bait 7. The mask 2 is closed toward the front and opened toward the rear. A leader inserting hole 12 is provided in the closed part and fins are attached to sides of the mask 2. Elastic wires for connecting main lines are mounted on the tip of the mask 2. An engaging pin is passed from one side to the other side of the mask 2 and mounted therein. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
