PURPOSE: Peptides conferring environmental stress resistance and fusion proteins containing the same are provided, thereby conferring the environmental stress resistance to the fusion proteins having the distinct properties of a fusion partner protein. CONSTITUTION: Peptides conferring environmental stress resistance have 10 to 50 consecutive amino acids in the amino acid sequence of a C-terminal acidic tail region of synuclein family, wherein the C-terminal acidic tail region of the synuclein family is selected from the group consisting of amino acid residues 96-14 of alpha-synuclein, amino acid residues 85-134 of beta-synuclein, and amino acid residues 96-127 of gamma-synuclein and synoretin. A fusion proteins is prepared by fusion of the peptides with a fusion partner protein, wherein the fusion partner protein is unstable to the environmental stress, and selected from glutathione S-transferase or dihydropholate reductase.
