PURPOSE: A near field optical recorder is provided to reduce possibility of generation of optical error and easily install an optical system. CONSTITUTION: A near field optical recorder includes a slider(100) in which an opposite lens is mounted. The slider is composed of a main body and a board. The main body includes an objective lens(111) and the opposite lens set in such a manner that the optical axis of the objective lens accords with the optical axis of the opposite lens. The board includes a thin plate(120) combined with the main body, a laser diode chip(122) placed on the surface of the thin plate, a beam splitter(123) having a face for reflecting light emitted from the laser diode chip, and a collimating lens(124). The board further includes a reflector(125) for reflecting light that has passed through the collimating lens to the objective lens, a wave plate(126), a right angle prism(127) for reflecting light that has passed through the wave plate, and a photo-diode IC(128) for receiving light reflected by the right angle prism.
