The invention concerns an injection system (1) for an internal combustion engine comprising at least an injection means (5), means for supplying pressurized fuel (2), an accumulator (3) common to each injection means (5) containing pressurized fuel supplied by said supply means. The invention is characterized in that the system (1) further comprises, between each injection means (5) and said accumulator, a pressurized fuel storage device (4) supplied by said accumulator, said storage device being designed at start-up to release said stored pressurized fuel towards its associated injection means so as to supply it with fuel under sufficient pressure faster than with said supply means alone. The invention is particularly applicable for stop and start operating mode.
