PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprag one-way clutch requiring a less number of parts than usual, improving the guiding performance of a spring holding sprags between itself and a holder, and assuring mesh between each of the outer periphery face of an inner ring and the inner periphery face of an outer ring and each of the sprags, without impairing the durability of the spring. SOLUTION: The sprag one-way clutch comprises the outer ring and the inner ring isolated from each other in the radial direction and concentrically arranged in a relatively rotatable manner, the outer ring having an inner periphery raceway surface and the inner ring being arranged in the outer ring and having a circular outer periphery raceway surface, the plurality of sprags arranged between the outer ring and the inner ring for transmitting torque between the outer periphery raceway surface and the inner periphery raceway surface, the circular holder for holding the sprags, and the spring member for holding the sprags together with the holder and energizing them to the direction of mesh. The holder has a cylindrical portion with a window passing therethrough in the radial direction for guiding the spring member almost circularly along the outer periphery face of the cylindrical portion in the state of rockingly fitting the window with the sprags.
