PURPOSE: A method for changing boost according to data detection is provided to perfectly read data of a disc by monitoring a current memory storing state to change a boost position to an optimum data reading position. CONSTITUTION: A boost changing method according to data detection includes the steps of reading data of a disc(S1), checking whether the data is read(S2), transmitting the read data and carrying out next job selected by a DVD player if the data is read(S3), checking whether current data reading time is not exceeded or not if not(S4), determining a current boost position if the data is reading within a data buffering time(S5), and changing the direction of the boost according to the characteristics of the boost(S6).
