PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-value FSK communication method and apparatus that can simplify the circuit configuration in the case of applying reception processing to a multi-value FSK packet. SOLUTION: When a transmitter side transmits a packet having a synchronizing signal part using a maximum value and a minimum value of multi-value FSK and a payload part using all values of the multi-value FSK and when a receiver side receives the packet, a reception circuit 3 demodulates the received signal to obtain an analog demodulation signal Sda and a binary signal Sb resulting from binary-processing the analog demodulation signal Sdm, applies them to a reception data processing section 23 of a base band processing apparatus 12, the reception data processing section 23 establishes the synchronization on the basis of the binary signal Sb, and revises a reference value when the digital demodulation signal is converted into a multi-value digital signal on the basis of the digital demodulation signal Sdd equivalent to the synchronizing signal part resulting from applying analog to digital conversion to the analog demodulation signal Sda after the establishing of the synchronization.
