PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating prevention mechanism capable of preventing a floating phenomenon of a contact generated by a result of a size of a removal stop of a contact and a socket body and preventing a contact failure generated by the floating up. SOLUTION: The IC socket has the socket body in which a plurality of contacts are arranged in row; and a vertically movable cover member. The IC socket also has a floating prevention mechanism for fixing/retaining the contacts to the socket body.
