PTC CIRCUIT OVERCURRENT PROTECTION DEVICE ACCOMMODATED IN INSULATING TUBE

PURPOSE: A PTC circuit overcurrent protection device is provided to allow for compatibility with the fuse holder for holding a glass fuse, while reducing a heat transfer from the element having positive temperature characteristics to the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A PTC circuit overcurrent protection device comprises an insulating tube(10) having a cylindrical shape and open both ends; terminals(12A,12B) closing both ends of the insulating tube; a pair of electrodes(18A,18B) disposed within the insulating tube and spaced apart from each other, wherein each of the electrodes has a rectangular plate shape; a filler member(20) filling the gap formed between the electrodes, and which has positive temperature characteristics with the resistance increasing when the volume of the filler member expands by heating; wires(16A,16B) connecting the terminals and the electrodes, respectively; and an inert gas(22) filling the insulating tube.
