PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat the greater part of ice-making residual water produced in the ice making operation of a batch type ice making machine, installed in a cup type automatic vending machine. SOLUTION: The cup type automatic vending machine equipped inside with a batch type mandrel ice making machine, is provided with a residual water tank 13 for storing the ice-making residual water, an evaporating pan 15, a drain bucket 8 for recovering the residual water, a drainpipe 14 piped between the residual water tank and the evaporating pan and drain bucket, and a drain selector valve 17, as the means for treating the ice-making residual water produced in the ice making cycle of the ice making machine. The ice-making residual water discharged as drain water from the residual water tank is not recovered as it is into the drain bucket, but the residual water discharged from the residual water tank is discharged to the evaporating pan to carry out evaporating treatment, and only the excess residual water that cannot enter the evaporating pan is discharged into the drain bucket and recovered. As a heating heat source of the evaporating pan, the generated heat of a refrigerator unit 12 in the machine is used to perform evaporation.
