METHOD FOR REPAIRING FLAW ON ORGANIC CRYSTAL SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing organic crystal with a smooth surface which is used for a nonlinear material by locally repairing recessed defects such as flaw and dent on the surface to degrade the ratio of incidence and the conversion efficiency of laser beam or the like. SOLUTION: Recessed defects and peripheral parts thereof of the organic crystal having recessed defects on the surface are scanned in a two-dimensional manner while applying the load of 1-100 nN to a probe with the tip radius of curvature of 1-100 nm. The peripheral parts are cut, the cut portions are shifted to the recessed defects to form the surface in the same level as the peripheral parts, and surface defects of the organic crystal is repaired thereby.
