PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a pattern of the data on the basis of sequence by using the generalized representation for the sequence relationship among data. SOLUTION: Events A, B, C are defined as a condition where a value of a predetermined attribute of the record takes a specific value, and the sequence relationship among the events is defined on the basis of the sequence relationship of the date and the like of each record. When a retrieval pattern is designated by the sequence relationship among a plurality of events, the combination of the records corresponding to the pattern is retrieved from the collection of the records to be retrieved.
