PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up reception processing, and to enable transmission of status information to a host computer. SOLUTION: When a mode for validating simultaneously a Centronics interface driver 12a and an RS-232C interface driver 13a is set by an interface mode setting part 19 according to operation of a mode setting switch 23, a Centronics interface 12 and an RS-232C interface 13 are validated simultaneously by a CPU 11. Printing data, status request information or the like from the host computer 30 are received by the Centronics interface 12 capable of high-speed reception processing, and the status information is transmitted by the RS-232C interface 13 capable of transmission processing of the status information to the host computer 30. |
