PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install permanent magnets 6 at positions on a yoke 3 with accuracy, and to obtain a robust permanent magnet rotor. SOLUTION: The permanent magnets 6 are installed on the outer circumferential surface of the yoke 3 of the rotor 2 in a protruding manner so that the permanent magnets 6 are dispersed at specified intervals in the direction of rotation. A retainer 7 is placed over upper faces 6b of the permanent magnets 6 to form the peripheral portion of the rotor 2. Fixing pins 5 are installed at both ends 7c of the retainers 7 and the yoke 3 to fix the retainer 7. The permanent magnets 6 are thereby anchored to the yoke 3.
