<p>A thin flexible electric conductor for use in implantable devices such as cochlear implants, consists of a conductive metal layer coated on a flexible three dimensionally textured surface so that the current capacity of the conductor is increased relative to the current capacity of a conductor of the same size that is not on a three dimensional surface. The flexible substrate is treated to form a three dimensional surface such as with corrugations and a conductive layer is deposited onto the surface.</p> |
