PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cosmetically using a dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) derivative, capable of improving an appearance of a keratinous substance in the human body, such as the skin, the hair, the eyelash, and the nail, and especially capable of preventing or treating an aging symptom of the skin, and/or a dull color of the skin, and/or chromatogenous abnormalities in the skin or the hair, and/or xerosis of the skin, and/or seborrhea, and/or defects relating to the seborrhea, and/or hypersensitivity of the skin, and/or dandruff, and/or damage to the hair, and/or canities. SOLUTION: This method for cosmetically using the DHEA derivative comprises applying at least one DHEA derivative to the keratinous substance.
