PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To objectively and specifically evaluate the sharpness of a grinding wheel without measuring the surface roughness of a ground work. SOLUTION: The surface temperature of the work 2 is measured before and after grinding the work, and the sharpness of the grinding wheel 1 is evaluated by the temperature difference before and after the grinding obtained from the result of measurement.
