PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for cleaning an exhaust gas and a manufacturing method therefore by which dispersibility of supported catalyst components is improved and the lowering of the dispersibility of the catalyst components after endurance is suppressed. SOLUTION: The catalyst is prepared by supporting the catalyst components on porous powder. The porous powder has fine pores each having 0.4-100 nm average fine pore diameter. The catalyst components are at least supported in the fine porous. The porous powder has the amount of water absorption equal to or above critical amount of water absorption and equal to or below <=2 times of the critical amount. The average particle diameter of the porous powder is 0.1-1,000 μm. The catalyst for cleaning the exhaust gas is obtained by dipping the porous powder in a solution containing the catalyst components under a reduced pressure condition below atmospheric pressure to impregnate and by drying and firing the porous powder. |
