PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode lead wire which is thin, lightweight, electrically stable, and highly reliable, by drastically reducing defects generated in production. SOLUTION: In the cold cathode lead wire 1 comprising a cylindrical body 2, a bar body 3 inserted into the cylindrical body 2 from the top so as to be connected with the body 2, and a lead wire 4 electrically welded to the end of the bar body 3, the cylindrical body 2 and the bar body 3 are fixed and connected each other electrically and mechanically through two welded portions 2a, 2b in the periphery of the cylindrical body 2, which are welded by a laser beam of a laser welding device.
