<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate shape correction method which solves a problem of the conventional plate shape correction method wherein an elongation percentage detected in each zone across the plate width is expressed and computed in functions, so that the shape control ability of a rolling mill cannot be effectively utilized attendant on the approximate accuracy of the functions and for this reason it is difficult to control the plate shape with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This plate shape correction method comprises a process of detecting the shape of the plate to be rolled; a process of converting the plate shape detecting signals to multidimensional vectors with the elongation percentage in each zone across the plate width as a factor; a process of converting a target plate shape, an actual plate shape, and influence coefficient of each shape controlling actuator to data vectors by the multidimensional vectors; a process of calculating a plate shape deviation vector from the target plate shape data vector and the actual plate shape data vector; a process of calculating an optimum actuating variable which minimizes the value of the plate shape deviation vector; and a process of controlling the actuator with the optimum actuating variable for plate shape correction.</p> |
