PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sheet type composite material favorable as a high-strength gasket material or a packing material with an excellent heat resistance property and a sealing property and the gasket using the sheet type composite material provided by the method. SOLUTION: A seal material with resin is formed by attaching powder resin on either or both sides of the seal material, heating and softening or melting the resin and then cooling it for fixing the resin on the seal material. The sheet type composite material is manufactured by laminating and adhering an reinforcing core material onto the seal material. A gasket is formed by processing the seat type composite material into a predetermined shape and size.
