An embodiment of the invention comprises an appliance security method, the appliance operable to be used by a consumer at a single user entry point and serviced using a unique security mechanism unique to the appliance. The method also comprises associating an appliance with a unique identifier, associating a unique security mechanism with the unique identifier, the unique security mechanism required to service the appliance. Another embodiment of the invention comprises a security system for at least one appliance operable to be used by a consumer at a single user entry point and serviced using a security entry mechanism unique to the one of the at least one appliance, comprising a unique identifier to identify one of said at least one appliance, and wherein the unique security mechanism is required to service the one of the at least one appliance and is associated with the unique identifier.
