Method of determining the cause of a fault in a medical technical apparatus

The method determines the cause of faults in medical devices (1) in which data is stored in a data memory (3,4). The data is necessary for analysis of the procedure carried out by the medical apparatus before the fault occurred. Data over a predetermined time period may be stored. Data occurring after the fault can also be stored in a different memory. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.
