PURPOSE: A wired and wireless telephone is provided to reduce a phone size to a pocket-size and decrease a manufacturing cost by reducing the number of parts or using low-cost parts. CONSTITUTION: One end of the key is connected to a CPU and the other end of the key is grounded so that the CPU recognizes a signal inputted by a user as a high level signal or a low level signal. An LED1 contained in a handy main unit and indicating in service is connected to a battery detector unit(IC5) to indicate a battery shortage. When the battery detector unit detects the battery shortage, the CPU transmits a battery shortage signal to an LED. In case that the line is busy, the CPU transmits a flicker signal to indicate accordingly. Therefore, the LED for informing the battery shortage can be removed from the handy main unit and a port connected to a battery shortage indicator can be omitted in the CPU, so that a compact and low-priced phone can be accomplished.
