PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel detector 10 capable of performing the precise detection of a wheel W even under various conditions. SOLUTION: This wheel detector 10 for detecting the wheel W of a bicycle C comprises a load detecting means 3 arranged in a prescribed position of a floor F to detect a load. The detector 10 further comprises a wheel mounting member 2 for mounting the wheel W of the bicycle C, which is vertically movably arranged to cover the load detecting means 3. In this detector 10, the load detecting means 3 detects the load on the wheel mounting member 2 through the wheel mounting member 3 to recognize the presence of the wheel W.
