PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine with inexpensive constitution and efficient operability. SOLUTION: There is provided a suction valve which is opened when the pressure difference between the working chamber and the region located upstream of the suction valve is a specified pressure difference value so that the pressure upstream of the suction valve is varied, and thereby the relative valve opening duration time of the suction valve is changed, and accordingly the fuel amount reaching the working chamber of a second fuel pump is changed.
