摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination structure corresponding to dependency on visual angle while maintaining illumination efficiency of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel 1 has a pair of substrates having a transparent electrode at least on one of oppositely disposed inner surfaces and a liquid crystal layer held between the substrates. First and second polarizing plates 2, 3 are disposed on the outer surfaces of the respective substrates. A directional back light 4 having nearly parallel exit light distribution including illuminating light with expansion to the normal direction of the liquid crystal panel 1 restricted within a range narrower than about 60 degrees is disposed on the rear surface side of the liquid crystal panel 1 via the first polarizing plate 2 by providing directivity by integrating lights from a light source in the normal direction of the liquid crystal panel 1 and a light diffusion plate 5 is disposed on the front surface side of the liquid crystal panel 1 adjacently to the second polarizing plate 3.
