PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To water-proof an antenna element of an antenna assembly and improve a supporting cover mechanism to eliminate the gap between the antenna element and a cover, thereby miniaturizing the antenna assembly including the cover mechanism to reduce the weight and the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: As shown in Fig. (A), a planar antenna element 14 is sealed and housed in a synthetic resin package 14 with a coaxial connector 16 or a coaxial cable (not shown) led out to the peripheral edge of the package 14. A concrete means for forming this constitution comprises setting the antenna element 14 in a forming mold (mold) 17, as shown in Fig. (B), and molding the package 15 in one body, or, as shown in Fig. (C), inserting the antenna element 14 between two previously molded covers 18a, 18b and ultrasonically welding or adhering them.
