PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having an area to be identified by contrast even when the depth of a groove is shallow, and its manufacturing method which uses the area to stick substrates together. SOLUTION: A pair of substrates 10 are stuck together through an adhesive layer 20. The substrate 10 has a first area 11 as a recording area, a second area 12 formed inside the first area 11 to indicate a positional reference, and mirror-shaped third areas formed inside the second area 12 and outside the first area 11. A groove of a depth 60 nm is formed in the first area 11 and, in the second area 12, a plurality of tracks where pits and spaces are alternately arranged are disposed. In the second area 12, light is scattered to enlarge contrast with the other areas 11, 13, thereby facilitating identification. |
