PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable and long-life rotary kiln and a method for manufacturing the rotary kiln with simple processes. SOLUTION: The rotary kiln comprises a plurality of iron partition plates 28 and 30 and a plurality of premold-castable blocks 36. The iron partition plates 28 and 30 are disposed separately at prescribed positions in the longitudinal direction of an iron shell 22 along the circumferential direction of the iron shell. The premold-castable blocks 36 are disposed between the iron partition plates. Since the premold-castable blocks are disposed between the separately disposed iron partition plates in the circumferential direction at such prescribed positions in the longitudinal direction of the iron shell as damages by chlorine gas, for example, is easily caused, the highly reliable and long-life rotary kiln can be obtained.
