PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition and a tire which can realize a sufficient improvement in performance on the ice and snow. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains 100 pts.wt. of a diene rubber, 2-30 pts.wt. of short fibers having a mean diameter of 10-100μm and a mean length of 0.01-4 mm, and 1-10 pts. wt. of particles having a Mohs hardness of 5 or higher and a mean diameter of 500μm or smaller. The tire has a tread made from the rubber composition. Examples of the particles used include those comprising pumice, quartz and emery. |
