PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mouthpiece for an endoscope where an endoscope cover can be fitted to a mouthpiece used in general for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and an endoscope insertion part can be covered with this endoscope cover. SOLUTION: The mouthpiece 10 for the endoscope consists of a mouthpiece body 14 and an endoscope cover housing body 16. The mouthpiece body 14 is formed nearly like a cylinder where an insertion hole 18 for inserting an endoscope insertion part 102 is formed. The endoscope cover housing body 16 is formed nearly like a doughnut where an opening part 22 is formed in a center and has a housing part 24 having a recessed cross section formed along its periphery to house the endoscope cover 12 in this housing part 24. Between the mouthpiece body 14 and the endoscope cover housing body 16, a slit 30 for drawing the endoscope cover 12 from the housing part 24 is formed. The tip part 13 of the endoscope cover 12 is arranged within the opening part 22 of the endoscope cover housing body 16 via the slit 30.
